Gail Gilbert
Sergeant at Arms

My name is Gail Gilbert. I was raised on Chicago’s South side. Born on May 8, 1961. I attended Percy L Julian High School and graduated on May 1979. I then journeyed to Prairie View A&M University in Texas, a HBCU, where I studied and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. After graduation, I was the first female graduate of Prairie View A&M University to attend and complete Army Aviation Flight School. I also became the sixth black female to graduate from the Army Aviation Flight School. I obtained my Master of Business Administration degree in 1993 and became a proud member of the Illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1987. After 10 years of active duty service, I now work at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Chicago, Illinois as a Systems Administrator.
My favorite past times include working as a girl scout leader and a basketball referee for both high school and college teams. In addition, I enjoy serving the community and I am a member of the Eastern Stars. Because I enjoy dancing and promoting fun times, I am happy to serve on the Strictly Steppin’s team as Sergeant at Arms where I am affectionately known as “Sweet G”.
